Hyperion Systems Engineering Ltd. the leading independent solutions provider to the global process industry supported the 21st European Symposium on Computer-Aided Process Engineering (ESCAPE 21) as one of the event’s Gold Sponsors.
The Symposium was held from May 29th until June 01st in the great resort of Porto Carras in Chalkidiki, Greece.
According to the organisers’ own statistics nearly 450 participants registered for the event including participants not only from Europe, as the event’s name suggests, but also from all over the globe such as America, Australia and even Africa.

The event started on Sunday evening with a casual welcome reception in the grounds of Meliton Hotel, Porto Carras Resort. The following two and a half days were structured around interesting and varied plenaries and presentations throughout the day followed by colourful traditional evening entertainment for an opportunity of meeting fellow participants and speakers.

Hyperion’s Dr. Dionyssia Kyriakopoulou, part of the company’s Real Time Process Optimization Group gave a presentation on Long Distance Operator Training – show casing one of Hyperion’s many offerings in the company’s solution portfolio.

Dr. Symeon Kassianides, CEO of Hyperion Systems Engineering confirmed: “Hyperion has always been interested in and supportive of innovation and research. This has been one of the reasons why we have decided to participate at ESCAPE 21 as well as to support the event as a representative from the industry by registering as one of the Gold sponsors. For us it is important to pass the message to anyone involved in the field – be it studying, researching or lecturing - to let them know how important their contribution is to develop even more sophisticated systems and solutions to aid human kind.“

The European Symposium on Computer Aided Process Engineering (ESCAPE) series presents the latest innovations and achievements of leading professionals from the industrial and academic communities. The ESCAPE series serves as a forum for engineers, scientists, researchers, managers and students to present and discuss progress being made in the area of Computer Aided Process Engineering (CAPE).

European industries large and small are bringing innovations into our lives, whether in the form of new technologies to address environmental problems, new products to make our homes more comfortable and energy efficient or new therapies to improve the health and well-being of European citizens. Moreover, the European Industry needs to undertake research and technological initiatives in response to humanity's "Grand Challenges", described in the declaration of Lund, namely, Global Warming, Tightening Supplies of Energy, Water and Food, Ageing Societies, Public Health, Pandemics and Security.
