Hyperion's CEO Awarded as Manager of the Year at the IN Business Awards 2013

For the 6th consecutive year the IN Business Awards highlight and celebrate the Cypriot companies which contribute to the development of fair business. The IN BUSINESS Awards, award companies, entrepreneurs, products and services that have excelled in the Cypriot market during the last 12 to 18 months only to confirm that entrepreneurship, hard-work, risk and innovation will bring the much-needed development.

Dr. Symeon Kassianides, CEO of Hyperion Systems Engineering, was the Winner of the Manager of the Year Award during the award ceremony which took place at the Hilton Park Hotel, Nicosia, on Friday, January 31st 2014 and was attended by the President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr Nicos Anastasiades, government ministers and business leaders.


The awards have huge coverage and communication to Cyprus’ business audience and are also covered by the local and international media.

IN Business magazine, Cyprus’ first business magazine is the organizer of the IN Business Awards, which this year are concluding six years of existence in Cyprus’ business activities. The validity and objectivity of the magazine, the validity of the view and "collective wisdom" of the members of the Evaluation Committee and the clear processes ensure the magazine’s prestige.

Presentation Event of a Special Book Publication with C.P. Cavafy’s Poems and Unique Artwork

Hyperion’s 20th anniversary year coincides with the 150th birth anniversary of the Greek poet Constantine P. Cavafy. Hyperion was pleased to conclude its 20 year anniversary cycle with a very special presentation at the Gloria Gallery in Cyprus, of a very special book, published with Hyperion sponsorship, including C.P. Cavafy’s poems and unique artwork. This publication is unique, as each page and poem of the book, is specially illustrated by 100 Artists over the last 20 years. Many artists, Hyperion associates, employees and friends were present during the book presentation, which was held in Nicosia, on the 13th of December 2013.

Hyperion Sponsors and Presents at the Workshop on LNG Production and Safety

European University Cyprus with the sponsorship of the Technical Chamber of Cyprus, the Department of Labour Inspection, the Vassiliko Cement Works Public Ltd and Hyperion Systems Engineering Group organized on the 12th of November 2013, for the first time in Cyprus, a technical Workshop on Liquified Natural Gas (LNG) Production and Safety.

The aim of the Workshop was to shed light to the future energy outlook for Cyprus and the wider SE Europe.  The workshop concentrated on providing technical details on the various aspects of LNG production and safety.

Dr Symeon Kassianides, CEO Hyperion Systems Engineering Group, gave a presentation on 'Simulation in LNG Plant design: Principles and Case studies'.

Hyperion Simulation to supply the Reverse Osmosis OTS for the SWCC Training Center, in Saudi Arabia

Nicosia, Cyprus.  26 September 2013.  Hyperion Systems Engineering (Hyperion), the leading independent solutions provider to the global process industries, announces that it will supply a generic Operator Training Simulator System (OTS) and the civil works of the OTS room for the Reverse Osmosis (RO) Project, at the Training Center of Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC), in Saudi Arabia.

Hyperion Simulation will be the main supplier of the OTS system, and responsible for the functionality and handover of the complete system. Hyperion will also manage a sub-contractor, conducting the civil works portion of the project. Hyperion Simulation’s responsibilities on the project will include:

  • Development of the dynamic process models for the Reverse Osmosis (RO) plant, using DYNSIM™ dynamic simulation software.
  • Emulation of operator station (emulated DCS screens)
  • Emulation of the DCS controls
  • Emulation of the Safety System
  • Integration of the process models with the emulated Safety System and emulated DCS
  • Development of the Instructor Station
  • Hardware and software procurements
  • Installation and commissioning at SWCC Training Center
  • Provision of appropriate training and documentation (manuals and specifications)
  • Management of the subcontractor who will perform the civil works for the Reverse Osmosis OTS room of SWCC’s Training Center.

 Mr. Fahad Al-Minqash, Training Administration Manager of SWCC Training Center stated, “The Reverse Osmosis OTS for our training center is an important project for us. We have many scheduled training courses on RO and we wish to enrich our theoretical training with a simulator for the process, allowing for hands-on training using the simulator. By selecting an experienced company like Hyperion, we trust that we will have a successful project delivery, in line with our expectations and requirements.”
